I’m sure I sound like an old geezer by reminiscing about the old days.  I remember dentistry WITHOUT dental websites.  Do you remember those days? For a few hours each year we would meet with our local phone book representative, pick the size of ad that we wanted to run in the Yellow Pages. We would pick some colors, look at some stock photos, go over a few dental phrases, and within a few minutes our dental office marketing would be done for the year. Dental websites can be interesting and informative or simple with minimal information. We at Seasons of Smiles Dental are very proud of our website because it’s so much more than just a yellow page ad with our phone number. It’s a working website. We  have it full of educational material that we can share with our patients. For example, depending on our patients’ situation we can show them how crowns work, or examples of what zirconium crowns look like. Or information regarding Invisalign. Lots of informative stuff. We at Seasons of Smiles Dental run our own website. I have heard it suggested that it’s not usually a good idea for the dentist to make their own website. And as the years have progressed I must admit, there have been times that I was tempted to throw in the towel and go buy into one of those off the shelf dental websites. I cringe at the mistakes made while running our own dental website.  Even now, there are a few rough edges that need to be worked on. But overall, looking back, I’m glad we stuck with it.
