Kami Kay Medina Smiles

Kami Kay Medina Smiles

Hi, my name is Kami Kay Medina. I am Dr. Medina’s daughter and am currently working full time this summer at Seasons of Smiles Dental.

I am currently a sophomore nursing student at Southern Adventist University, studying hard to follow in the footsteps of my older siblings to become an RN. I am excited to be working in the office, and though I am moving on to a different medical field, I know I will be in and out in the future.

For the past few years, I have worked part-time as the Seasons of Smiles social media guru, mainly through Pinterest. Check our pinterest account here. I have also recently become my dad’s personal blog editor.

I have also had the opportunity to go on many mission trips with the dental office to places such as Mexico and Peru and Panama and through these experiences, I was able to see first-hand the effects that a good nurse can have on people in need.

Because I grew up seeing and hearing all the medical talk, this ultimately led me to the decision that I too, wanted to be a nurse – sorry dad, no dentist after all!

I enjoy doing crafts with my mom and spending time with my siblings. During my time at Fountainview Academy, I especially loved the time I spent going on music tours around the U.S. playing harp and cello.

I am extremely excited to be working with my dad, and learning many new things about dentistry. I have enjoyed getting to know our patients and look forward to meeting you too!

On Retainers and Other Dog Toys

Kami Does Vivera Retainers

Dogs love chewing on plastic retainers. I am convinced that all canines believe retainers should fit in their mouth since they fit so nicely in yours. However, this is just one of many ways you can lose your precious teeth-stabilizers. Maybe the dog got it, or after wrapping it up in a napkin at lunch time you never found it again. I have never lost mine literally, but if you saw my retainer, you’d say it was a lost cause. It has been 5 years since I got my braces off and I haven’t had a new retainer since. So, I hit up the dentist for a possible upgrade. When I approached my dad, Dr. Medina, about my retainer, all … Continue reading →

Local Jackie Kennedy Onassis’ Sporting the “Reusable Grocery Bag”

Jackie Onassis Rocking the Reusable Grocery Bags in Camden Rockland Rockport Maine

“So, how was your summer?” This is the question all students anticipate as they pack their bags and head on back to the life of stress and studies. Unlike most of my friends, I didn’t work at camp, stay at home, or travel the world; but, I did have just as much, if not more fun, than they did. I worked for my dad. Working at Seasons of Smiles is always an adventure — after all, we all know what a hoot Nellie Clark is. I spent my afternoons at the office and did a hodgepodge of random jobs like scanning, shredding, cleaning down operatories, and writing stuff for my dad’s website. And one of my favorites of all – finding office … Continue reading →

Seasons of Smiles Dental Celebrates Red Nose Day 2016

Art Thomas and Michelle Red Nose Day 2016

We clamored up the sidewalk with the sun on our backs and wind caressing our faces, slowly making our way back to the office after a delicious group lunch. “Time to take our pictures! Lets go lets go!” hollered our beloved hygienist Samantha Quinn–today was the day our office got to have a little fun while showing our support for Red Nose Day. We waltzed into the office, decked ourselves out in noses, glasses and necklaces. We half posed, half partied while pictures were snapped–but wait–what exactly is Red Nose Day? Don’t worry, we wondered too. For those of you who don’t know, Red Nose Day is a day dedicated to spreading awareness for children in need in the UK and Africa, … Continue reading →
